Kings Recognize Kings: HartavaLyon

“You may not want to be a leader but if you have a following you must lead”

Don’t quote me on this but when I was 18 my icons were Allen Iverson, Andre 3000 & Kanye West. So to be considered an idol to a senior over in Lindenwold, New Jersey is a honor. I met up with the young King Rondel Parker, his friend Larry Hill & mentor Sam Colon in Downtown Philly after a brief discussion over the Internet on how I was a big influence in Rondel’s life after him noticing my feature in The Philadelphia Inquirer.

We meet up and I enjoyed every moment of it. We spoke on how I became who I am today, what I have done that sets me apart from my peers & any advice I had for him and his friends.  I told him I was a hustler and whatever I wanted I went out & tried my best to get it.

I also wanted to stress the importance of getting an education. Many folks may not be as fortunate as me to succeed without one and the way the economy is going right now you need to have a backup plan. After my meeting with Rondel he decided to start a blog Hartavalyon and he soon wants to start a clothing line that represents the area where he is from. I feel blessed to have met Rondel. K.R.T.
