Chill Moody #RFM Album Release Concert

RFM

“I was once told to smell your roses as you make it to the top” -Chill Moody

Tomorrow, Friday, Decemeber 28,2012 at 10pm Chill Moody will be headlining his first ever concert with Live Nation.

The concert will be held in Philadelphia, PA at the Theater of Living Arts - 334 South Street. This year our fellow king has done so many things to add to his professional resume; from hitting the stage at the 2012 Roots Picnic, to being ranked #3 on Billboard’s Top 10 Things Seen and Heard

One of our best experiences with the rising Philly MC, is the forming of a new movement in Philadelphia “The Coalition” . Along side our peers JusBeano, Abstract Thought and the man himself Chill Moody, we are charging ourselves to spark change in the city of Philadelphia with a cohesive message to be great as one, and not live with the “crabs in a barrel” mentality.

“Black is Beautiful 5″

Black Is Beautiful V is an evolving event held on Black Friday in the city of  Philadelphia, Pa.  Black Is Beautiful first began in 2007  as an event for young college students who would be home for the fall break . Since then the event has attracted young professionals, entrepreneurs, artists and athletes nationwide.

This year we have reached out to local artists (Ivben Taqiy, Eazy Sumrz of NBHB and S.W.A.G. Sharp with Art Group) from the Tri-State area to display their art on the event’s main stage. In addition to adding an art exhibit, we reserved a private location for our supporters to enjoy a night at a secluded location. The location to this ticket only event, will be disclosed only to those who purchase a ticket. The count on tickets are limited to ensure a safe and comfortable atmosphere.

This event includes an open buffet and requires you to have semi-formal attire. Music will be provided by none other than Dj Ricochet.

We look forward to sharing this experience with you as we seek to enhance this annual tradition. – K.R.T.

Split Second the Movie 10.14.12

 ”Split Second The Movie Premier”

The young King will be featured in the movie premiere of “Split Second” starring Todd Anthony and Neil Carr directed by Tim Fontaine. These three guys are supporters of myself and the brand K.R.T. so when they asked me to be apart of the production it was a honor to help out.

Acting was always something I was interested in since an early age. My mother use to take me on auditions but I never got picked lol. Those days are now over. Director  Tim Fontaine had a vision for me to play a role that most people are not used to seeing me as. I believe that I did a great job, this is the beginning of the beginning of a new talent of mines.

Saturday’s show is sold out but tickets for Sunday’s show for “Split Second” are still available. It goes down OCT 14TH at 6m at The Enterprise Center 4548 Market street Phila, PA 19139. Check out one last promo clip for “SPLIT SECOND” and get your tickets at www.splitsecondthemovie.com. See you on Sunday! -K.R.T.

“It’s not the destination it’s the Journey”

Visiting the great city of London, England was always a dream/goal of mine.  I didn’t know how soon it would be nor that I would be there with two of my closest friends Shaheed and Nehemiah. My main reason for going was to experience London Fashion week first hand. Although I would be going for the last two days It was a something I wanted to partake in. Needless to say I didn’t want to come back.

K.R.T. “Vision” & Summer “Inspire” Release Recap

“Living A King’s Vision”

On Thursday, June 28, the young King had a release event at Kembrel for my latest K.R.T. collections- the “Vision” collection and “Inspire” summer series edition.

The purpose of the event was to let the people see through the eyes of a King, because I wanted for my vision to become clearer.  A few weeks before the event, K.R.T. supporters anxiously awaited the arrival of my new shirts since I posted a picture of at least one of the shirts on Instagram.

From start to finish of the event, people came to purchase K.R.T. merchandise and enjoy the company of other K.R.T. supporters. The guests arrived looking their absolute best, while showcasing their style. Sounds were provided by DJ Mike Lowry, who was able to capture the moment by playing the soulful yet unforgettable songs of the nineties and then crossed over to some of the newer music of this current generation. Live models, Karon Byers and Sylvia Ardente,  stood in the windows of Kembrel sporting the “Living a King’s/Queen’s Vision” shirts. The guests that came enjoyed the culinary styles and tastes of Victoria’s Kitchen along side some natural fresh juice from Abu The Juiceman. While the guests were satisfied by their K.R.T. purchases, their taste buds and stomachs also were also in delight.Photographers, Ricky Codio, Dominique Nichole, as well as videographer, Julian Willingham from Forever Dope Society (FDS) were able to capture every moment.

The wonderful part about the night was that there was practically a smile on every face at Kembrel, because they knew that they were apart of my vision. The night ended on a note that make me feel proud and assured that we were all living the vision. – K.R.T.

Custom Lifestyle Recap

“Rule of Three”

When I hear the words “custom lifestyle” I think of creating your own destiny and making your own rules. Putting things together that don’t necessarily belong but make them work for you is a great way to describe the event that took place by the good brothers over at ButchershopReab, Search and Rescue, and Co-laborative lab. You might have heard of Search and Rescue before as they created my installation at the “K.R.T. New Online Launch” event. With each of these brands being skilled in their own craft collaborating in the installation of this space in Harlem 218 E. 125th st. Ny, Ny they were able to create an event showcasing a custom lifestyle through art, furniture, and fashion.

Search and Rescue provided unique antique props as the backdrop for showcasing custom furniture by ButchershopRehab, and original Colaborative lab paintings and wearable art.  The experience was very gallery meets Trunk Show and all items on the floor were for sale. By way of many people being in attendance, tweeting and instagraming, it made the experience much greater  by having those in tune with social networking wondering what was happening at the event as they took pictures of the unique display. All and all this was a great way of Kings Ruling Together. - K.R.T.

Check out some of pictures I captured at this event HERE.

Ricky Codio | “Evolution” Exhibition Recap Video

” young photographer with big dreams”

Recently, photographer Ricky Codio presented his journey as a photographer at his “Evolution” exhibition at the beautiful Gallery Exquisite. By showcasing both older pieces and through unveiling new works of visual art, this event presented the range of techniques and styles employed by this virtuoso photographer. In just a short period of time after launching himself as a professional photographer, Codio was regularly shooting for various clothing lines including Kings Rule Together, musical artists, and taste-makers, as well as many other clients.

The young photographer has positioned himself as the go-to photographer in the area for high-end, creative photo shoots. He has worked on campaigns that can be seen in such places as Essence.com, and XXL Magazine (to name a few).  Various people and spectators came to the gallery to marvel at his works. He also showcased a painting done by the artist Ivben Taqiy, which was head-on in the likeness of one of Codio’s photographs, as well as showcasing one of Iris Bonner’s personal paintings for him.

The event was a success and not too long after that he sold his first print piece.- K.R.T.

A King’s Event: Dukes Inspire Kings Recap

KRT

“A key to success is consistent quality branding. Personal & professional.”

Anyone that knows me personally knows I am not a fan of public speaking. Even though you may find me with a mic in my hand occasionally,  its usually never by preference.  I feel that once you’re in a position to lead, you must step up to the plate and do so. That was my thought process on March 8, 2012, when I was nervously waiting to present at the Apple Store for “Dukes Inspire Kings.”

Once I saw the amount of people that came out to support Seun Olubosum and myself for our collaboration event with HyloBoutiques, the excitement presented was unmatched compared to what I was actually feeling. We ended up having a full house, packed with people from all over to come watch us as we  discussed our companies and brands.  We focused mainly on the beneficial roles that technology and social media has played with brand-building in today’s market. - K.R.T.
