Around this time last year I curated a photoshoot titled “A King’s Theme: Tees Vs Tank” highlighting 5 of some of the dopest brands out of Philadelphia. This year we have decided to take it a step further by hosting Kings Rule Together (K.R.T.) first annual “Tees VS. Tanks” 3-on-3 basketbal tournament from 6pm-10pm at Parkside Evans Park (53rd & Parkside) Friday, September 7th. This event will be sponsored by Vitamin Water and Changemakers Org and Cory Townes.
Come out and cheer on your favorite clothing brands as they compete for a team and MVK ” Most Valuable King” trophy. A total of 16 games will be played amongst 16 notable local clothing brands including Bellargo, TOBH, Neo Daviso, Dosage’s “3D“, Abstract Thought, Anderung, Red Penguin, Chill Moody’s “nicethings“, Natrl Brn Heart Brkrs, Stay Cool, Geek Clothing, Anml Hse, Ibn Majid, Syck Dayz and of course the home winning team #KRT.
All proceeds from this event have been spent on school supplies for the young kings and queens of Philadelphia as they prepare to head back to school on September 7th. Spectators are free to come out to enjoy our friendly competition, jam out to DJ J5ive, go nuts on our moonbounce, and shop amongst the the various competing clothing lines – make sure you bring plenty of cash. Ricky Codio & Darren Burton will be conducting photoshoots on site, live broadcast by @PodCastWeds and all video footage from the days events will be shot by Derrick Woodyard. This is one royal event you don’t want to miss! See you Friday!
Still cant quite believe it has been two years since we (Shaheed Rucker and Myself, Curran J.) started Arts, Beats and Eats here in Philadelphia,Pa. Reflecting back over the years of Arts, Beats & Eats it has far exceeded our expectations much more than we could ever imagine. Arts, Beats & Eats has become a staple for our culture and it’s become a must attend event for young entrepreneurs in the tri-state area. With each installment making connections and donating to various causes and charities we have watched many lasting partnerships & business opportunities come about every 1st Sunday of the month.
This month’s theme is geared around celebrating our 2 year anniversary by bringing you a FREE outside festival filled with plenty of vendors, food, live music and sounds provided by Dj Gianni Lee.
This event will be held at McMicheal Park on Henry ave and Midvale from 3pm-7pm.
The only thing we ask you to bring is school supplies which will be giving out at the 1st Annual K.R.T. “Tees vs Tanks” 3on3 Basketball Tournament September 3rd located on 53rd and Parkside Ave.
On Thursday, June 28, the young King had a release event at Kembrel for my latest K.R.T. collections- the “Vision” collection and “Inspire” summer series edition.
The purpose of the event was to let the people see through the eyes of a King, because I wanted for my vision to become clearer. A few weeks before the event, K.R.T. supporters anxiously awaited the arrival of my new shirts since I posted a picture of at least one of the shirts on Instagram.
From start to finish of the event, people came to purchase K.R.T. merchandise and enjoy the company of other K.R.T. supporters. The guests arrived looking their absolute best, while showcasing their style. Sounds were provided by DJ Mike Lowry, who was able to capture the moment by playing the soulful yet unforgettable songs of the nineties and then crossed over to some of the newer music of this current generation. Live models, Karon Byers and Sylvia Ardente, stood in the windows of Kembrel sporting the “Living a King’s/Queen’s Vision” shirts. The guests that came enjoyed the culinary styles and tastes of Victoria’s Kitchen along side some natural fresh juice from Abu The Juiceman. While the guests were satisfied by their K.R.T. purchases, their taste buds and stomachs also were also in delight.Photographers, Ricky Codio, Dominique Nichole, as well as videographer, Julian Willingham from Forever Dope Society (FDS) were able to capture every moment.
The wonderful part about the night was that there was practically a smile on every face at Kembrel, because they knew that they were apart of my vision. The night ended on a note that make me feel proud and assured that we were all living the vision. – K.R.T.

Over the past few weeks, I have posted a few pictures of the new clothing for K.R.T. on my Instagram. With growing excitement the wait is finally over. I would like to invite all of K.R.T.’s current and future supporters to join K.R.T. as we release the “Vision” collection and Summer “Inspire” series on June 28th from 5pm-9pm at Kembrel on 1822 Chestnut St. Philadelphia, Pa.
Started by UPenn students, Kembrel is an exclusive shopping village for fashion adventurers who desire quality clothing and apparel as well as accessories.
In order to show our appreciation, each guest in attendance will receive 25% off of all Kembrel merchandise. I hope to see you there. – K.R.T.

“Rule of Three”
When I hear the words “custom lifestyle” I think of creating your own destiny and making your own rules. Putting things together that don’t necessarily belong but make them work for you is a great way to describe the event that took place by the good brothers over at ButchershopReab, Search and Rescue, and Co-laborative lab. You might have heard of Search and Rescue before as they created my installation at the “K.R.T. New Online Launch” event. With each of these brands being skilled in their own craft collaborating in the installation of this space in Harlem 218 E. 125th st. Ny, Ny they were able to create an event showcasing a custom lifestyle through art, furniture, and fashion.
Search and Rescue provided unique antique props as the backdrop for showcasing custom furniture by ButchershopRehab, and original Colaborative lab paintings and wearable art. The experience was very gallery meets Trunk Show and all items on the floor were for sale. By way of many people being in attendance, tweeting and instagraming, it made the experience much greater by having those in tune with social networking wondering what was happening at the event as they took pictures of the unique display. All and all this was a great way of Kings Ruling Together. – K.R.T.
