“I was once told to smell your roses as you make it to the top” -Chill Moody

Tomorrow, Friday, Decemeber 28,2012 at 10pm Chill Moody will be headlining his first ever concert with Live Nation.

The concert will be held in Philadelphia, PA at the Theater of Living Arts - 334 South Street. This year our fellow king has done so many things to add to his professional resume; from hitting the stage at the 2012 Roots Picnic, to being ranked #3 on Billboard’s Top 10 Things Seen and Heard

One of our best experiences with the rising Philly MC, is the forming of a new movement in Philadelphia “The Coalition” . Along side our peers JusBeano, Abstract Thought and the man himself Chill Moody, we are charging ourselves to spark change in the city of Philadelphia with a cohesive message to be great as one, and not live with the “crabs in a barrel” mentality.

“How do you feel pop culture influences peoples perception of sex?” -DJ Damage (GenerationNext: Uncovered)

Recently Kings Rule Together had the opportunity to be part of a great production titled “GenerationNext: Uncovered” which was produced, directed, and written by Shenille Latrice, CEO & Founder of iChoose2live.

This documentary features over 20 Philadelphia Teens discussing REAL life issues about SEX. Majority of the kids were styled in K.R.T. queens and kings apparel.

Some of the topics that were mentioned were:

2. Why are teens not strapping up?
3. YOLO!!!
4. Getting naked for social media
5. Is it Beyonce or Lil Waynes fault?
6. Who’s fault is it that you got burnt?
7. Do you need to get tested?

The documentary features DJ Damage (Radio Personality for Hot 107.9/BET On-Air Personality 106th & Park), GoGo Morrow (Singer, Songwriter Dancer – Toured w/Lady Gaga), Melissa Hopely –(International Speaker) and Lafayette Kanard (Philly Stylist & Designer).

The picture below shows Bow Wow hanging out with a group of friends enjoying lunch, while wearing our “Young King” hoodie again but in Black. I guess its easy to say that Bow Wow considers himself a “Young King”. This hoodie is availble for purchase at our online store. – K.R.T.

“Black is Beautiful 5″

Black Is Beautiful V is an evolving event held on Black Friday in the city of  Philadelphia, Pa.  Black Is Beautiful first began in 2007  as an event for young college students who would be home for the fall break . Since then the event has attracted young professionals, entrepreneurs, artists and athletes nationwide.

This year we have reached out to local artists (Ivben Taqiy, Eazy Sumrz of NBHB and S.W.A.G. Sharp with Art Group) from the Tri-State area to display their art on the event’s main stage. In addition to adding an art exhibit, we reserved a private location for our supporters to enjoy a night at a secluded location. The location to this ticket only event, will be disclosed only to those who purchase a ticket. The count on tickets are limited to ensure a safe and comfortable atmosphere.

This event includes an open buffet and requires you to have semi-formal attire. Music will be provided by none other than Dj Ricochet.

We look forward to sharing this experience with you as we seek to enhance this annual tradition. – K.R.T.

 ”Split Second The Movie Premier”

The young King will be featured in the movie premiere of “Split Second” starring Todd Anthony and Neil Carr directed by Tim Fontaine. These three guys are supporters of myself and the brand K.R.T. so when they asked me to be apart of the production it was a honor to help out.

Acting was always something I was interested in since an early age. My mother use to take me on auditions but I never got picked lol. Those days are now over. Director  Tim Fontaine had a vision for me to play a role that most people are not used to seeing me as. I believe that I did a great job, this is the beginning of the beginning of a new talent of mines.

Saturday’s show is sold out but tickets for Sunday’s show for “Split Second” are still available. It goes down OCT 14TH at 6m at The Enterprise Center 4548 Market street Phila, PA 19139. Check out one last promo clip for “SPLIT SECOND” and get your tickets at www.splitsecondthemovie.com. See you on Sunday! -K.R.T.

“Killing two birds with one stone”

I recently had the opportunity to style the leading man Kevin Moore in R&B singer Vivian Green’s come back video “Anybody Out There” directed by
Patryk Depa. I styled Moore in all three outfits provided by Kembrel and Culture Couture Vintage. Of course one of his looks would be the signature K.R.T. “Kings Inspire Kings” T-shirt. (white with baby blue inspire) available Here. Check out the video below. – K.R.T.

“It’s not the destination it’s the Journey”

Visiting the great city of London, England was always a dream/goal of mine.  I didn’t know how soon it would be nor that I would be there with two of my closest friends Shaheed and Nehemiah. My main reason for going was to experience London Fashion week first hand. Although I would be going for the last two days It was a something I wanted to partake in. Needless to say I didn’t want to come back.

“Men of style”

I was really intrigued to see how different the style was on the everyday people of the city. I don’t think I can judge much off of the five days I was there, but it reminds me a lot of New York City. You can’t really tell who is a native or who’s a visitor, it’s like a melting pot of various countries and ethnicity’s. I’m sure this plays a role in why London has such a diverse fashion scene. All in all I found great inspiration in the men of the city because we all had something in common. “Style” – K.R.T.
