What better way to kick off Black History Month than with the 2nd installment to our Inspire series in honor of the late Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. We wanted to spread awareness and highlight some of the important issues going on in society today, as well as remind the community of some of Dr. King’s life lessons. Held at The African American Musuem in Philadelphia, it was a night to remember.
Moderator Erica Atwood set a tone of high energy amongst our panelists. The board included Greg Corbin, Founder of P.Y.P.M. (Philly Youth Poetry Movement), Kahiga Tiagha, Member of Tiagha & Associates, Abdul Malik Amari, Teacher & President of SMSV (Stop The Madness Stop The Violence), Shaleah Lache Sutton, President & Founder of UNIQUELY YOU SUMMIT, INC., Mike Gross, Owner of MG Enterprises, and Idris Robinson, Assistant Director for the Office of Global Health within the Dornsife School of Public Health at Drexel University, as well as the Creative Director for Kings Rule Together. While each individual gave insight on some very controversial topics, they also indulged in some Q&A with various people in the audience sharing their well seasoned and intellectual thoughts.
We at K.R.T. are very thankful to all of our panelists and the entire audience for making the The Inspire Series: MLK Edition a memorable one.
Your feedback and suggestions for future guest speakers are greatly appreciated, and we look forward to bringing you more events that inspire you. – K.R.T.
